Welcome to Chester Veggieweb. It's still in the very early stages, but hopefully it won't be long before it is fully up and running.

Chez Jules serving of fois-gras

We have recently discovered ( thanks to Hayley Macquire of the Chester Evening Leader) that Chez Jules also serves foie-gras on its "gastranomique" menu. I have written to this restaurant regarding this, and if necessary will be handing leaflets to its customers to inform them of the vile way in which this supposed delicacy is produced.

Foie-Gras at the Grosvenor Hotel

We have recently become aware that The Grosvenor Hotel on Eastgate Street is serving foie-gras on their menu. The suffering involved in its production is unimaginable. For more information on this, click here

The production of foie-gras would contrevene UK animal welfare regulations, but due to EU legislation, it's import and sale in this country is perfectly legal.

Please write to The Grosvenor if you would like to express your feelings on this issue. To view their website, click here and you can make comments directly to them here

There will be people handing out leaflets on the cruel production of Foie-Gras- why not stop by? The first will be on Saturday 5th January from 10am-2pm- see Chester Action to Prevent Animal Suffering (CAPAS) website here for more information
